These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Live OnScreen Translator mobile application ("the App"), provided by [Developer Legal Name] ("we", "us", or "our"). Please read them carefully. By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing, accessing, or using the App, you confirm that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. License to use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service.
3. The service
The App detects text visible on your device screen (or in a photo, camera view, or voice input) and displays a translation using on-device and/or online translation engines. Translations are generated automatically and may not be perfectly accurate; you should not rely on them for critical, legal, medical, financial, or safety-related decisions.
4. Subscriptions & purchases
The App offers optional premium plans (Weekly, Monthly, Yearly) and a one-time Lifetime purchase. Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing and are subject to the Google Play Terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription any time in the Google Play Store > Subscriptions.
- Cancelling stops future renewals; the current paid period remains active until it ends.
- Except where required by law or Google Play policy, payments are non-refundable. Refund requests are handled through Google Play.
- Prices may vary by region and may change; we will seek consent where required before a renewal at a changed price.
5. Free trial
Where offered, a free trial (e.g., 3 days) lets you use premium features at no charge for the trial period. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription at the applicable price. Manage or cancel in Google Play before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
6. Advertising
The free version of the App displays advertisements provided by third-party ad networks (e.g., Google AdMob). Purchasing a premium plan removes ads for the duration of your entitlement.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the App for any unlawful purpose or to translate content you are not permitted to access;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except as permitted by law;
- interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to bypass security or usage limits of the App or its providers;
- use the App to infringe the intellectual-property or privacy rights of others.
8. Intellectual property
The App, including its name, logo, design, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.
9. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services (including Google Play Services, Google AdMob, Google translation/AI services, and Google ML Kit). Your use of those services is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
10. Disclaimers
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that translations are accurate or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the App. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Malaysia, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you in your country of residence.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
